Lee grew up in Louisiana and most currently claims New Orleans as his hometown. Lee moved to Natchitoches, Louisiana (setting for the movie “Steel Magnolias”) at the age of 16 to attend LSMSA (The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts) finishing up his junior and senior years of high school. Lee was a member of the first LSMSA Crew team and even coxed a gold medal novice women’s four boat at the SIRA regatta in 1996.

Katie grew up in Texas and most currently claims Katy as her hometown. Katie graduated from James E. Taylor High School in 1998. Katie was active in the Expressions show choir and varsity performance choir while at Taylor.

We met at Centenary (Centenary College of Louisiana), in Shreveport. While at Centenary, we both sang in the Centenary College Choir and Lee helped to start a rowing club. Lee graduated in 2001 with a B.A. in Religious Studies and Katie graduated in 2002 with a B.A. in sociology. After graduation Lee moved to Denver, CO to attend Iliff (Iliff School of Theology) and pursue a Masters of Divinity. After Katie graduated she moved to Denver and we got married on December 14, 2002. We were married at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Shreveport, LA by the Reverend Richard Valantasis who is also a professor at Iliff.

Our first child, Norah Lynn, was born on December 12, 2004. She is a spectacularly happy child. In fact, she is so happy and agreeable that our parents think we don’t deserve her.

We moved to Austin, Texas in June of 2007 and have fallen in love with the city and are doing out best to “Keep Austin Weird.” (Actually, we live just north of Austin — but we’re moving closer into town in 2008). Katie is currently working at AGE (Austin Groups for the Elderly) as the Outreach Coordinator. AGE provides various services to Seniors in Central Texas through their programs — Elderhaven Adult Day Center, the Caregiver Resource Center, and SeniorNet Computer Learning Institute. Lee is currently working at SWL (Small World Labs) as a Web Software Developer. SWL creates social networking software (like Facebook or MySpace) for specific organizations. Lee has earned the nickname “Saint Digital” for his work in squishing software bugs.
